Obtaining a Concession Agreement

Concessions allow for investors to receive specific incentives based on the size of the investment. Concession agreements are generally available for investments larger than US $10 Million. Agreements are negotiated with the Government of Liberia through the Inter-Ministerial Concessions Committee (IMCC), which is chaired by the Liberia National Investment Commission (LNIC). The IMCC works to ensure that the country enters agreements with renowned and reputable investors, who understand the country’s need to build upon its natural resources, strategic location and youthful labor pool, to bring growth and development to its people. The IMCC includes permanent committee members from the Ministries of State, Finance, Justice, and Planning and Economic Affairs, as well as other key stakeholder ministries and agencies.
